FlyJaya Introduces New Halim-Yogyakarta Route, More Affordable Flights Available
BERITA TERBARU INDONESIA, YOGYAKARTA — The Low Cost Carrier (LCC) FlyJaya, a recent addition to Indonesia’s aviation industry, has announced the launch of a new route linking Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta with Adisutjipto Airport in Yogyakarta. The inaugural flight for this route took place on Thursday (3/7/2025).
Ary Mercyanto, Chief Commercial Officer of FlyJaya, stated that the opening of this route is a testament to FlyJaya’s commitment to providing efficient, affordable, and comfortable air travel for the Indonesian public. He mentioned that the Halim-Yogyakarta route is the first for FlyJaya, operated using their ATR 72 fleet, a turboprop aircraft known for its efficiency and suitability for short to medium routes.
The choice of Adisutjipto Airport as the arrival point in Yogyakarta offers strategic benefits due to its proximity to the city center, facilitating easier mobility for passengers. “This route launch is a first step for FlyJaya in enhancing connectivity in Indonesia, especially to strategic cities like Yogyakarta. We aim to offer a distinct flying experience that is not only cost-effective but also warm and familial, as epitomized by our cabin crew through FlyMily values,” he said in Yogyakarta on Thursday.
He also highlighted another advantage offered by the airline, which is the earliest departure schedule, flying from Halim Airport at 6:20 AM and arriving in Adisutjipto by 3:55 PM. “This allows for maximum time flexibility for both business travelers and tourists,” he explained.
Furthermore, the airline strives to support community mobility and national economic growth through broader connectivity. “We believe that the role of airlines is not just connecting point A to point B, but also supporting regional economic growth, opening access to remote areas, and aiding in equitable development as well as contributing to the government’s downstreaming program. This is our way of supporting the government’s vision to develop national connectivity, as highlighted by our tagline, Connecting Nusantara,” he added.
He assured that the ATR 72 fleet utilized has undergone high-standard maintenance and is manned by experienced and well-trained crew in line with civil aviation regulations. “With a spirit of innovation and warm service, we believe FlyJaya can become a leading choice for people traveling between cities and islands, particularly within the regional areas of Indonesia,” he concluded.
